I have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, as well as a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. I am licensed in the state of Alabama by the Alabama Private Investigator Board (APIB), and I am a member of the Alabama Private Investigators Association (APIA) and the National Defender Investigator Association (NDIA). I have a certificate for Private Investigator Professional Development Criminal Defense Investigations from the National Investigative Training Academy (NITA), and designation as a Criminal Defense Specialist by Criminal Defense Investigation Training Council (CDITC). I am also a member of the National Legal Aid & Defender Association, which focuses on indigent defense and sentencing mitigation.

Before my police and private investigations career, I served as an Antitank Assaultmen (0351) in the United States Marine Corps. I deployed to Ramadi, Iraq in 2007 and Helmand Province, Afghanistan in 2009. I am a member of the Madison County Hall of Heroes for a Valor award I received while serving in combat in Southern Afghanistan.
